2010 Carter Manny Award
The application deadline for the 2010 Carter Manny Award is March 15, 2010.
Eligible individuals interested in applying for a Carter Manny Award must complete a Carter Manny Award application. This application is now available online.

The Carter Manny Award application will request the information listed below. We recommend that you prepare the following material in a Word document and then copy and paste your answers into the application.

Nomination Letter and Reference Letters

All letters listed below should be sent in hard copy form directly to the Graham Foundation. The online application form provides mailing instructions.

Nomination letter: A brief letter from your department administrator confirming that you have been nominated to be the departmental applicant for the Carter Manny Award. Only one such nomination may be made annually by any one department. The letter must state that you have been nominated by your department to apply for the award; that you have completed all coursework and have been advanced to Ph.D. candidacy; and that your proposed dissertation has been formally approved by the department.

Reference Letters: You should arrange to have three letters of reference, listed below, sent directly to the Graham Foundation:

a letter of support from your thesis advisor
a letter of support from a specialist in your area of research who is outside your university
a letter of support from a reference of your own choosing
